The imperial birthday was one of the most significant festivals in traditional China in which the whole country participated. The exhibition consists of the grand celebratory spectacles for three Qing emperors and two empress dowagers including the Kangxi Emperor (r. 1662-1722), the Qianlong Emperor (r. 1736-1795) and the Empress Dowager Cixi (1835-1908).  Visiting Information
