The inscription on the upper part of the scroll is Bai Juyi's The Ballad of the Pipa Lute. The painter signed "painted and inscribed by Qingkuang" ("Daoist Priest Qingkuang" is the sobriquet of Guo Xu), and affixed the relief square seal "Renhong" (his style name). There is another seal but its content is illegible.
